Privacy Policy
Effective October 11, 2026
This Policy explains how Type Nothing (“we,” “us”) handles personal information when you visit typenothing.com, use our software or account services, join a waitlist, or contact support.
1. Local dictation and optional online features
Speech recognition runs locally on your computer. Using local transcription does not send your voice recordings or dictated text to our servers. Local recordings and recovery data remain subject to your device’s storage, settings, and security.
Optional online features are different. If you request a cloud AI rewrite, the text you submit and any instructions are sent to the AI provider for processing. The managed rewrite service currently uses Anthropic. If you connect your own provider, that provider processes your submitted content under its own privacy policy. Avoid sending information you do not have permission to share.
Account-platform features may process dictionary entries and writing profiles when you use cloud backup or synchronization. Local dictation does not become part of your account simply because you sign in.
2. Information we receive
Accounts and sign-in. We use your email address, account identifier, and authentication information to sign you in. When you choose Google sign-in, Google provides the identity information authorized during sign-in, which may include your name, email, and profile image. We do not receive your Google password.
Licenses and teams. We process plan and license information, device identifiers or fingerprints, activation and last-use timestamps, feature-usage counts, and team membership information to manage access, computer allowances, and service limits. Team owners and administrators can view membership information needed to manage their team.
Waitlists. We store the email you submit, your testing-interest choice, and a platform preference when provided. The early-access form sends your email address to Clearout to check whether it appears reachable. That check may begin while you type a valid-looking address, before you submit the form.
Support. We receive messages and reports you send, your contact details, and any diagnostic information you choose to attach. Diagnostics are intended for technical details such as app version, environment, and error information—not voice recordings or transcripts. Messages you write yourself may contain personal information; include only what is necessary.
Technical information. Operating the website and online services involves processing network information such as IP addresses, request times, and error details. Problem-report rate limiting uses a hashed IP identifier. Optional diagnostic or usage reporting, where enabled, can provide technical events and usage measurements.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide sign-in and account services, manage licenses and teams, fulfill requested AI processing, maintain security, investigate errors, respond to support requests, and send the waitlist or product updates you requested. We also use technical information to understand reliability and improve the Services.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide requested Services, for legitimate interests such as security and reliability, to meet legal obligations, or with your consent for optional processing. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We use Lovable Cloud for website and account infrastructure, Google for Google sign-in, Clearout for email verification, Anthropic for managed AI rewrites, and Resend for problem-report notification emails. These services process the information needed for their role; their own privacy policies also apply to processing they perform independently.
Authorized staff can access account and support information as needed for their duties. A problem report can trigger an email notification containing its contact information, description, and technical summary. We may also disclose information when required by law, to address fraud or security threats, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
5. Browser storage
The website uses browser storage and authentication mechanisms to maintain sign-in and remember choices such as your theme or selected download platform. You can clear or restrict storage through your browser, but doing so may sign you out or reset preferences. This Policy does not describe third-party websites you visit through external links.
6. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including account operation, support, security, and legal obligations. Retention depends on the information and why it was collected; account deletion may not immediately remove necessary legal records or backup copies.
We use access controls and other technical safeguards to protect online information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your computer and sign-in access, particularly because local recordings and recovery data are stored on your device.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You can use local transcription without enabling cloud AI, choose whether to attach support diagnostics, and manage browser storage. To stop waitlist updates, use an unsubscribe option where provided or contact us.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Send requests to legal@typenothing.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when legally required. You may also have a right to complain to your local privacy regulator.
8. International processing and children
Our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries, whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, applicable safeguards must be used for international transfers.
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this Policy as our practices or legal obligations change. The effective date appears above; material changes will be communicated where required.
For privacy questions or requests, email legal@typenothing.com. For product help, visit Support. Use of the Services is also governed by our Terms of Service.
